Black mambas live in the savannas and rocky hills of the
southern and eastern Africa. They are the longest venous snake you can find in Africa.
Why is it deadliest ?
- Territorial : 10/10 Highly territorial as it defends it territory for other species.
- Speed : 10/10 Fastest snake in the world with the speed of 11-19 km/h.
- Length : 10/10 Average 8 ft Its the longest venous snake in Africa and the longest ever found is 15 ft.
- Toxic :10/10 Takes only 20 min for the victim to die
- Aggression : 10/10 Only snake on the earth that doesn't warn before it strikes.Can strike around 360 degrees and dry bite does not exist.
- Style : 10/10 :The inner inky black layer of its mouth gives it a deadly look. It strikes repeatedly one bite after another and every bite delivering venom in a huge quantities.
- Fang size : 10/10 22 mm in comparing to King cobra whose fang size is 8 mm
- Deadly feature : Fangs are positioned forwardly compared to other snakes thus mamba's venom delivery apparatus is more efficient that other venomous snakes.
Night with a nine : In South Africa , in a tribal village, screams were heard from a hut, one person entered the hut but dint return , suspicious another entered but dint return , this happened till nine people and they never came out.No one dared to enter next.The next morning all the villagers gathered courage and with weapons entered the hut and saw nine dead bodies in the hut with a mamba in the corner.All the nine showed the symptoms of the mamba bite .That night the black mamba decided to stay in hut and every time a person entered it felt its being cornered and struck at each repeatedly .
A Giant bite : No where in earth it has been reported that an elephant is dead because of a snake bite . Such a huge creature , no snakes dares to challenge an elephant . Any snake that saw such huge creature runs from it surely. But in Africa once a very huge elephant was reported dead by a snake bite for the first time.The symptoms are of a black mamba bite . To date, this is the only scientifically documented case of an elephant killed via snakebite
Seven dogs at once : In a different case in which a black mamba was attacked by seven dogs , the snake managed to swiftly move and dispatch all seven dogs without incurring any injuries aside from a few minor and superficial bite wounds on its tail. All seven does rapidly succumbed to the mamba's venom , tow of the does were dead within the first 10-15 min , while the others died one at a time in less than an hour

Most large predators and herbivores ,including lions, wildebeests and cape buffalo will steer clear of black mambas. A herd of buffalo who happen to spot a mamba anywhere within the herds vicinity will usually back away and move in the direction opposite to the mamba.
